| Abortion by Heart BeatNorth Dakota is reported as passing an abortion law that limits according to when the heart beat begins, among many other considerations.As ever there appears to be an obsession with the word life.Is not sapient life more to the point - the stage at which the foetus has awareness.On that basis abortion after that stage would be an assault on the foetus, as a human being.Beyond that stage two lives must be weighed together, and presumably the foetus only aborted - killed - where the life of the mother is prejudiced beyond some point to be determined.Beyond that point the mother is not only in charge of her own body but also that of another human being.Assuming we are in an altruistic society, not anarchist, or worse.
